Editorial Design: Book Cover
BRIEF
Design a book cover of a famous couple with only the three colors of The Penguin Publishing Group.
SKETCHES
THOUGHT PROCESS
I choose to represent both Katniss and Peeta with plants because in their story, nature always provided them with a way of dealing with their traumas. The flower that represents Katniss also has that name, while the wheat plant represents Peeta since he is a baker. The plants are burning to demonstrate the challenges they have faced together, how their relationship came to a start.

REFLECTION
I really wanted this imagined book to be about Katniss and Peeta as people and the dynamic of their relationship. There are already books for The Hunger Games, so I tried to avoid symbols that were too obviously already associated with the games. Their relationship brought peace and a safe space for each other in a world where peace of mind was hard to achieve. They are both kind and caring, willing to sacrifice for others, and have lived through many incredibly difficult events, and that is what this book would really be about.
